Danish Estates: Kriswill Bernadotte Smooth Bent Dublin (08) Tobacco Pipe

Almost Cherrywood-like in the lowness of its transition, this bent Dublin from Kriswill is very different from much of their recognizable check-mark-like profiles. The bowl strikes me here immediately as, rather than comprising a steady flare from its firm, slightly flattened heel, it takes on a blooming growth to its ridgeline-wrapped rim, informing an organic aesthetic that I rather like. The sleekness of the shank and stem keep the visual weight on the bowl, and the lengthy stem's subtle downturn promises comfortable smoking. A warm auburn stain dresses the briar here, revealing cross grain atop the shank and rim, while the left flank of the bowl is shrouded in dense birdseye.
