Danish Estates: Rocky Patel Smooth Freehand (by Nording) Tobacco Pipe

Made by Erik Nording for the Rocky Patel cigar company, which also sells these special pipes. This Freehand is all smooth, except for a kiss of plateau on the near rim. The bowl is not quite as wide as it is long, with fluting and panels in the sides of the bowl, compressing the form horizontally. Grain is very good throughout underneath the auburn stain. It's among the most well finished and well-grained Nordings I've seen, and in the Danish Fancy style that was popular in the '70s and '80s, with many folks still intrigued by the aesthetic continuing to pursue these dramatic pipes.
