Danish Estates: Stanwell Royal Prince (187) (9mm) (1970s-1990s) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-001-32793
Stanwell's "187" shape is quite an interesting one, contrasting the plump nature of its Brandy-like bowl with a firm-lined diamond shank. Together with a slim, generously bent saddle mouthpiece, it maintains quite the sinuous and elegant profile, and its well-bent outline promises easy jaw-hanging. The bowl is delightfully rotund, with a broad, low-set waistline that marks the rounded taper to the rim, offering a wonderful feel in hand, while the wide transition it's paired to lends plenty of room to drape a thumb. It's presented here in the warm, subtle, Royal Prince series, with some fine grain on display through its mahogany stain.
