Danish Estates: Peter Stokkebye Smooth Bent Pot (F) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-001-32742

Peter Stokkebye pipes were crafted by Jørgen Larsen, a Danish carver who developed an allergy to briar dust and had to eventually retire from pipe making, which is a shame as the beautiful pieces he created under the Stokkebye name are highly sought-after by collectors. This bent Pot offering is remarkable, with a plump bowl that exhibits a Brandy-like taper up to the slanted rim while tight streaks of vertical grain wrap around the flanks. The elongated shank curves upward from the transition, rising with elegance as it meets the elegantly downturned saddle stem, with even more beautiful grain lining the shank's sides. It's a wonderfully creative piece and will elevate any collection it joins.
