Danish Estates: W. O. Larsen Smooth Bent Brandy (Straight Grain) (7) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-001-32993

The famed W.Ø. Larsen workshop was the breeding ground for some of Denmark's most esteemed artisan pipe makers, including Jess Chonowitsch, Teddy Knudsen, and Hans "Former" Nielsen. This bent Brandy embodies the refined engineering and craftsmanship for which the workshop was known. While it boasts the form's characteristic broad, plump heel and rapid taper to the rim, the bowl is considerably larger than typical renditions of the Brandy shape, with an added girth to its construction that can be attributed to the compression found along its flanks. The bowl holds most of the visual weight within the composition, overshadowing the comparatively trim shank-and-stem arrangement that curls out back and strikes a sinuous S-curve. A warm, traditional smooth finish dresses the stummel and showcases fine licks of straight grain on either flank of the bowl.
