Karsten Tarp began his pipe making career working for Bari pipes for a decade. There, he honed his skills and met fellow carver Kai Nielsen. The two became friends, and they now share a workshop in Faaborg. Tarp offers a wide variety of shapes, ranging from distinctive Freehands to simple, elegant classics. This bent Rhodesian is a sleek interpretation of the traditional shape, featuring a subtly tapered bowl with a low-set waistline, at the fore of gently curved paneled shank, which joins a tapered stem. Dressed in a rich, deep, ruby finish, the stummel boasts excellent flame grain around the walls of the bowl, with dense birdseye at the heel.
