Maintaining that serpentine fluidity so common to bent S. Bang briars, this charming bent Apple from Per and Ulf is a stunning bit of craftsmanship. Now retired from pipe making, the pair had an acute ability to affix a curvaceous bowl to a proportionally pronounced shank and stem, often making for a piece that's substantial and sturdy, yet soft and supple of form. This gestural piece is a brilliant example, with its easy, graceful silhouette, combined with a stunning presentation of flame grain dressing all flanks under a warm, auburn stain.
