Danish Estates: Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation Burnt Sienna (1897) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-001-33249
This muscular, broad-bowled bent Pot from 4th Generation corresponds to Erik Stokkebye's 1897 blend, which honors the birthdate of Erik Stokkebye's grandfather, Erik Paul, the second generation of the Stokkebye family's long standing tobacco tradition. As a pipe, the "1897" was designed for Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation by Peder Jeppesen of Neerup, and it's a design that beautifully reflects Peder's recognizable shaping aesthetic: The bowl is thick-walled and full-bodied, contrasted by the comparatively slender shank-and-stem combination's elegant curvature. Such shaping combines for a pipe that fits substantially in hand, with a wide presence for wrapped fingers, that also hangs comfortably hands-free.
A smooth finish and rich contrast stain define pipes in the Burnt Sienna series from Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation, the dark, earthy tone and contrasting, light-ochre sections befitting the line's moniker and highlighting the briar's natural grain patterns. It's a finish indicative of Peder Jeppesen's skill and signature style, accented handsomely by a bronze-hued accent separating the stummel from an acrylic stem.-Truett Smith
