Peter Stokkebye pipes were at one time made by Jørgen Larsen, a Danish carver with extraordinary skills who eventually became allergic to briar dust and had to give up pipe making. Larsen graded his pipes with letters, A being the highest possible grade, with this pipe having earned an "H" grade. Smooth Danish shaping cues are clearly present, with substantial cheeking at the transition, a strong taper to the bowl, and a svelte shank and stem arrangement. Dressed in a rich auburn finish, the stummel boasts fine grain around the bowl.
