Danish Estates: W.O. Larsen Partially Sandblasted Bent Dublin (Super) (86) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-001-33631

A trim and sharply angular Dublin from W.Ø. Larsen, this piece features a medium-depth sandblast highlighting fields of textural birdseye on either flank of the bowl, while the midsection is striated by growth rings, save fore the smooth rim. The transition is low, contributing to the vertical precedence of the bowl, with a transition of soft contours introducing a cylindrical shank that ascends in a "checkmark" profile before the sturdy mouthpiece offers its balancing downward bend. The W.Ø. Larsen workshop was a place where many famous carvers plied their craft, employing such names as Teddy Knudsen, Jess Chonowitsch, Peter Hedegaard, and Tonni Nielsen, and though we can't identify the individual craftsman who created this pipe, it's certainly of a quality deserving of its heritage.
