Sleek, svelte, and strikingly stylized, this Acorn from the venerable W.Ø. Larsen workshop is an interesting take on the modern classic profile that should stand out in any collection of the brand's work. A more mid-set transition marks the start of a lithe, tapering shank, which continues its diminution through the stem, keeping the aft side gracile and pushing nearly all of the visual weight onto the bowl. Up front, we see an Egg-like bowl sitting atop a pointed heel, the form taking on a rounded taper to the forward-urging rim with plenty of curvature for the fingers to enjoy, its walls thick enough to provide some insulation from the capacious chamber. The stummel here is dressed in a warm auburn stain that reveals a wealth of swirling birdseye on the flanks of the bowl, while the top and underside are striated by cross grain. Unsmoked.
