Danish Estates: Stanwell Design Choice Smooth (826) (1970s-1990s) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-001-35082

Founded in the 1940s, Stanwell helped popularize Danish pipes in the United States thanks to their unique shapes, many of which were designed by legendary pipe makers such as Sixten Ivarsson, Jess Chonowitsch, and Tom Eltang. This "826" bent Dublin by Stanwell presents a sweeping posture, as the walls of the dramatically forward-canted bowl taper to a low-set transition that gives way to a ovoid shank. Furthermore, the shank end features a vulcanite mount that joins to a stem of the same material, giving the rear of this piece a sleek look. Additionally, the stummel is dressed in a chestnut smooth finish, highlighting an array of fetching grain.
