This bent Dublin from Celius is a rather angular interpretation of the classic form, offering a check mark-like silhouette that immediately captures the eye. Like an Acorn, the bowl here flares from its firm, pointed heel to its broad, plateau-crowned rim, and as it does, it takes on a forward cant that imbues the totality of the shape with an active posture. A high-kicking shank-and-stem arrangement brings up the rear of the composition and lends a pronounced gesture to the form, while promoting a comfortable smoking posture. Dressed in an auburn smooth finish, the stummel offers fine grain across the bowl and shank alike.
