This bent Sail is a fetching showcase of Peter Heeschen's style, as it marries structural elements to a curvaceous sense of line. The bowl here is plump and full-bodied, its thick walls rising from a firm, rounded heel and terminating at a unique, lens-shaped rim. Said rim possesses defined points at its fore and aft, with these two outcroppings of briar adding a touch of rigidity to the shape's otherwise supple form. A softly bent shank-and-stem arrangement brings up the rear and lends a touch of gesture to the shape's silhouette, while promoting a comfortable smoking posture. An auburn smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights engaging grain across the bowl and shank, while an accent of mammoth adorns the junction and ties the entire form together with a touch of vibrant color.
