Danish Estates: Former Freehand Partially Sandblasted Twig Blowfish (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-001-34903
Renowned in the pipe-making world, Hans "Former" Nielsen has refined his craft for over 60 years, and like many pipe makers of his generation, he worked in the esteemed W.Ø. Larsen workshop. His style is marked by a seamless blend of elegant shaping, flawless engineering, and refined presentation, creating pipes that are visually striking, pleasant to handle, and comfortable to smoke. This Blowfish is a handsome showcase of Former's craftsmanship, and like many iterations, it boasts a unique asymmetry at the bowl, which is bifurcated by a crisp ridgeline. Said ridgeline frames the bowl's lopsided appearance, with one side of the form flat while the other is rounded, creating a nice juxtaposition throughout the fore. Out back, the shank adds an organic appeal to the composition, featuring an accent that mimics the look of a petiole, or a stalk that joins a leaf to a stem. Completing the profile is a trim saddle stem with an expansion ring at its base, the form demurely bent to offer a comfortable smoking posture. Former has dressed the stummel in a partial sandblast, with the rim and bifurcating ridgeline left in a smooth, rugby-hued finish, the rest wearing a dark sandblast.
