Danish Estates: P. Holtorp Smooth Bent Billiard (Aftermarket Band) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-001-35313
P. Holtorp crafted pipes for the famous Pipe-Dan tobacco shop in Copenhagen, Denmark. Holtorp worked alongside famous Danish pipe makers like Sven Knudsen, Tom Eltang, and Gert Holbek, before later moving to his own workshop. Holtorp's pipes are known to break the mold of the near-ubiquitous Danish Fancy Freehand movement at the time, focusing on crafting large, elegant briars that featured bold shaping. This bent Billiard by P. Holtorp possesses a towering bowl that dominates the composition, its spacious chamber sure to please anyone craving a lengthy smoke. Out back, the shank and stem kick high and feature a glimmering metal band at their junction, adding a dash of flash to the composition. Furthermore, the stummel is dressed in a chestnut smooth finish and the stem is crafted from jet-black vulcanite, giving this piece a timeless color palette that exudes traditional appeal.
