Danish Estates: Stanwell Classic Smooth Bent Dublin (post-2010) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-001-35303

During World War 2, while Europe was embroiled in turmoil, briar scarcity and limited international shipping meant that Danish pipe smokers couldn't obtain pipes from England. To fill this void, Poul Nielsen began making pipes out of beechwood under the name Kyringe. After the war, Nielsen transitioned to making briar pipes, and eventually changed his brand's name to Stanwell. Stanwell became an immensely popular marque that often collaborated with notable Danish artisans, like Sixten Ivarsson, Jess Chonowitsch, Anne Julie, and Tom Eltang. This bent Dublin is a fetching showcase of the firm's shaping style, offering a tall, forward-canted bowl that's paired to a sinuously bent shank-and-stem arrangement. It's dressed in a warm, deep auburn stain that's not only handsome, but reveals lovely grain throughout the stummel. A trim metallic band adorns the junction and ties the entire composition together with a touch of flash.
