Danish Estates: Winslow Rusticated Bent Apple (E) (Ekstra) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-001-35465

Having studied under the legendary Preben Holm when he was only 17, Poul Winsløw has gone on to establish a prolific pipe making career spanning more than five decades. As such, Winsløw's style is heavily influenced by the Danish Fancy movement that Holm helped pioneer, with whimsical, organic shaping sensibilities and colorful flourishes featured prominently. Boasting an exceptionally strapping physique, this hulking bent Apple from Winsløw boasts a sturdy in-hand presence. The bowl is towering, with thick walls stretching high as they flare from the heel toward a rounded rim. A muscular upturned shank transitions from the bowl and is punctuated by a vibrant acrylic mount, which accepts a bent saddle stem. The stummel wears an inky rustication, with fine vertical striations traveling up the bowl and wrapping around the shank. For contrast, the rim is left smooth and boasts whorls of birdseye.
