Danish Estates: North Dane Pipes Smooth bent Billiard (72 Special) (113) (by Georg Jensen) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-001-35762
From 1954 to 2001, the Georg Jensen factory made quality Danish-styled pipes in a wide variety of shapes, from reinterpretations of classic profiles to more modern designs with influence from the Fancy Freehand movement. Though Jensen has since retired from pipe making to work as master blender for the venerable Mac Baren company, his work remains in high demand on the estate market. This bent Billiard comes to us from Jensen's North Dane Pipes sub-brand, and it presents with a lengthy stem that's possessed of an extremely demure downturn at the bit. The stem is paired to a subtly tapering shank that diminishes as it reaches out of a wide transition, this pairing doing well to balance the presence of the bowl. Said bowl is tall and subtly curvaceous, standing atop a pronounced heel and offering plenty of room to showcase the stummel's warm stain.
