This Freehand by Johannes Hoffmann is a curvaceous, distinctly Danish design, its figure resembling an ovoid interpretation of the Volcano shape and boasting a comfortable presence in hand. The bowl stands atop a sweeping, rounded heel, marked by a fine ridgeline wrapping around the base from which smooth, supple walls rise and taper toward the undulating rim. A stout shank flares from a low-slung transition toward a beveled shank face, where it pairs to a demurely downturned saddle stem. Dressing the stummel is a warm, honey-blonde stain that highlights fine vertical grain around the bowl.
