Danish Estates: Georg Jensen Special Sandblasted Bent Billiard (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-001-35872

From 1954 to 2001, the Georg Jensen factory made quality Danish-styled pipes in a wide variety of shapes, from reinterpretations of classic profiles to more modern designs with influence from the Fancy Freehand movement. Though Jensen has since retired from pipe making to work as master blender for the venerable Mac Baren company, his work remains in high demand on the estate market. This bent Billiard is a demurely curved take on the classic shape, its gently sinuous outline defined by a subtly lifting shank and downturned saddle stem of black vulcanite: the junction accented by twin brass bands that flank a central ring of briar. Up front, the bowl boasts a supple curvature, especially near the heel, and its walls taper subtly to the rim while offering plenty of space to showcase the briar's crisp, earthy sandblast.
