Danish Estates: Ben Wade Majestic Designer Series Smooth Bent Dublin (C) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-001-36114
Though originally a family-owned English marque, the Ben Wade name is best known for its "Danish era" — when it was used to market briars made by a Copenhagen workshop run by Preben Holm. This bent Dublin comes from that workshop and possesses a fairly angular silhouette, one marked by a tall bowl, an upturned oval shank, and a demurely curved tapered stem. Said bowl flares from its firm heel to its broad, wavy rim, and as it does, it takes on a subtle forward cant that keeps the entire form looking dynamic in profile. Dressing this piece is an auburn smooth finish that highlights healthy grain throughout the stummel.
