Danish Estates: W.O. Larsen Smooth Canadian Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-001-36206

W.Ø. Larsen was, at one point, the home to many of Denmark's most esteemed carvers, including Sixten Ivarsson, Teddy Knudsen, Tonni Nielsen, Jess Chonowitsch, and Hans "Former" Nielsen. A handsome showcase of the workshop's style, this Canadian boasts all of the form's characteristic features, including a solid, upright bowl, a protracted oval shank, and an abbreviated tapered stem. Said bowl, in typical Danish fashion, tapers from its wide, Brandy-like heel to its taut rim, and as it does, it produces a low-set waistline that conforms naturally to the hand. The aforementioned shank-and-stem arrangement provides balance to the composition and keeps the shape looking sleek and streamlined in profile. Dressing this piece is a rich auburn finish that highlights healthy grain across the stummel's surface.
