Danish Estates: York Old Briar Smooth Rhodesian (271) Tobacco Pipe

A stout and rather compact take on the Rhodesian from York, this piece boasts a hearty shank and stem that admirably balance the presence of a plump bowl. A wide transition out back gives way to the shank as it lifts gently and tapers toward a similarly tapering stem of black vulcanite. The bowl stands on a rounded heel and grows subtly flaring walls that rise to a pair of beadlines, which additionally mark the bowl's taper to the rim. Dressed in a warm, smooth finish, the stummel showcases handsome grain throughout.
