Danish Estates: Son Diplom Smooth Bent Egg (22) (9mm) (by Nørding) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-001-36506

With a pipe-making career that dates to the 1960s, Erik Nørding is a prolific Danish carver who's known around the world for his signature take on the Danish Fancy design style. This bent Egg is a more timeless shape from the carver, and it was made for the Son brand, a collaboration with between Nørding and Soren Skovbo. The transition is wide and gives way to a short, lifting shank met by sleek and demurely curved saddle stem of black vulcanite, poising this piece for comfortable smoking. Up front, the bowl stands on a sweeping heel and grows to a low-set waist that starts the walls' sleek taper to the rim. These walls are rich with curvature to appreciate and offer plenty of substance in hand while leaving plenty of room to showcase the stummel's warm, rich stain.
