Danish Estates: Nording Smooth Bent Dublin (16) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-001-36659

Fashioning pipes since the 1906s, Eric Noriding is a prolific Danish pipe maker and pioneer of the Fancy Freehand moment. Nording's design style consists of deeply organic pieces with whimsical lines and flourished finishes, though sometimes he also showcases more reserved, classic designs. This bent Dublin is one of those more reserved pieces, with supple curves and clean lines of the traditional Danish style. The bowl holds an expressive flare, with walls that grow from a lifted heel to an asymmetrical rim. Subtle checking along the transition gives way to a round shank that meets an elongated, tapering stem of black acrylic, an arrangement that juxtaposes nicely with the sizeable bowl at the fore. Dressing the stummel is a smooth honey-hued finish that showcases vertical grain around the bowl and swirls of birdseye along the rim.
