Danish Estates: Tom Eltang Sandblasted Bent Egg Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-001-38582

Danish artisan Tom Eltang has over 40 years of experience in the pipe making world, with his first interest in the craft starting at only 6 years old when he noticed a pipe magazine through the window of a tobacco shop. Eltang holds an esteemed reputation and is recognized as one of the most prolific Danish artisans, so much so that young pipe makers often utter his name as a pivotal influence. This bent Egg by Tom Eltang boasts a sinuous under curvature and soft contours throughout that are associated with the Danish school of design. The forward-ebbing bowl presents a plump waistline and a gradual taper to the smooth rim, with the rim slanted to further emphasize the bowl's forward momentum. The broad transition lends ample room to wrap a thumb as it gives way to a trim shank which flares out at the junction. The shank and stem contribute to a consistent under curve, seamlessly transitioning from the bowl's lifted heel. The stummel wears an inky sandblast, with the rim and shank face left smooth for a handsome contrast.
