Danish Estates: Peter Hedegaard Smooth Apple (B) Tobacco Pipe

Danish artisan Peter Hedegaard began his career repairing pipes at the W.Ø. Larsen workshop, where he had the opportunity to work alongside legendary pipe makers such as Teddy Knudsen, Poul Ilsted, and Former. Hedegaard's work is deeply rooted in tradition, with a focus on classic Danish shapes that feature graceful, gestural profiles. His pipes are known for their exceptional line work and the way they impeccably showcase beautiful grain, embodying the finest qualities of Danish craftsmanship. This Apple is a handsome rendition of the iconic shape-chart standard, with a plump bowl at the fore of an arrow-straight shank-and-stem arrangement. The bowl is almost spherical in profile, formed by walls that curve out from a soft heel to a flat rim, creating a shape that contours well to the hand. Typical for Hedegaard's work, the stummel displays beautiful grain, with swirls of birdseye along the left flank.
