Danish Estates: Stokkebye Dinner Pipe (30) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-001-38693
Not to be confused with the similarly named Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation brand, Stokkebye pipes fall under the Peter Stokkebye International Ltd. tobacco company. Starting in the 1970s, the famed Jørgen Larsen produced the company's pipes for around thirty years. This pipe from Stokkebye, stamped "DINNER PIPE," is an oval-shank Billiard. The shank's elliptical shape helps to define the subtle taper about the bowl's walls and emphasize said bowl's height. Softly inflated, the rim adds a touch height and gentle curvature to the shape while framing a chamber with respectable capacity for the pipe's compact size. The heel is rather stern compared to the typical Danish Billiard, contributing to the arrow-straight silhouette of the shank-and-stem arrangement. The stummel wears a rich, chestnut-stained smooth finish to show off healthy grain throughout, complemented by the vulcanite stem's inky black hue.
