Danish Estates: Ben Wade Royal Grain Smooth Freehand Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-001-38731

This Freehand from Ben Wade is a showcase of the English marque's "Danish era" — when the company partnered with the legendary Preden Holm to create Freehands in Copenhagen. Both stylish and organic, the bowl on this Freehand is Acorn-like, with a taut heel and a broad, asymmetrical rim crowned with plateau. The shank is framed by six crisp facets, giving it a geometric profile, while the underscored panel allows the piece to sit without a pipe stand. The shank flares out to meet a stylized stem of black vulcanite, demurely bent for comfortable smoking. Dressing the stummel is a chestnut stain, highlighting swirls of birdseye along the rim and shank face.
