Danish Estates: Tom Eltang Smooth Cutty Tobacco Pipe

Danish artisan Tom Eltang has over 40 years of experience in the pipe making world, his style is characterized by pieces that lean into the Danish Functionalist aesthetic. Eltang holds an acclaimed reputation, recognized as one of the most prolific Danish artisans, so much so that his name is often uttered by young pipe makers as a pivotal influence. This Cutty features a tall, tapering bowl that sits with an expressive forward cant, imbuing the transition with a pronounced open stance. Said bowl sits gracefully at the fore of a slender, pencil-thin shank and stem and offers a surprisingly spacious chamber given the rest of the composition's lean, lightweight build. The stummel is finished smooth in one of Tom's distinct contrast stains, highlighting lovely cross-grain along the bowl's flanks.
