Jon Vesterholm is trained as both a carpenter and woodworking teacher, with a natural talent that eventually led him to the world of pipe making. After meeting Hans "Former" Nielsen in 2011, Vesterholm crafted his first pipe, a pivotal moment that set him on the path to becoming a full-time artisan in January 2016.

This Apple is a fine example of Vesterholm's craftsmanship and a respectful nod to Former's iconic Apple shape. The compact, almost spherical bowl captures the profile's muscular proportions, while subtle cheeking at the transition lends definition to the fore. A round shank connects seamlessly to a sleek vulcanite saddle stem, which completes the iconic profile. The stummel is finished in a rich mahogany stain that highlights the lively grain around the bowl.
