English Estates: London Castle Smooth Lovat (2)

Product Number: 004-002-7283

London Castle was founded in 1919, and the marque was distributed exclusively through the Smith's Snuff Shop in London. Unsurprisingly, the shaping here is classical English through and through. These were, evidently, the pipe of choice for Prime Minister Sir Harold Wilson - though how much of his appearing publicly with a pipe was genuine, and how much of it was a deliberate effort towards creating an "image" is another subject. Still, there's something to be said for a time when appearing with a tobacco pipe could help win you votes.
