English Estates: Peterson Killarney (406) (A Peterson Product) (London Made) (P-Lip) (1950s-1970)

Product Number: 004-002-7306

The Peterson "406" is an interesting shape. While stout shanks and sturdy proportions are a Peterson hallmark, I guess they thought putting a big, tubular shank on a Prince design just wouldn't do, even if it was Peterson. As a compromise they apparently instead went with just giving it an extra-broad, fully rounded bowl. The result is a design with fine lines and much of the classic Prince shape's elegance intact, just bigger, more capacious, and far less delicate. Unfortunately "406"s ceased to be imported to the US years ago, and as far as I can tell they aren't even being made anymore.
