English Estates: Ferndown Bark Bent Apple with Silver (***)
Product Number: 004-002-7266
If you like classic English shapes, but want something more on par in scale with larger Italian briars, you could do a lot worse than a Ferndown. Les Wood worked at Dunhill for many years, so his shapes are, unsurprisingly, sound renditions of the English classics. However, it would seem he exercises a much freer hand when it comes to extra-large briars, as it's not uncommon to find great big strapping Ferndowns like this silver-banded bent Apple, which at Dunhill would have been limited to the rare "ODA".
