This is a fairly traditional Bulldog shape, straight and crisp of line, with a tall bowl and high-set beadlines. Dressed in a smooth, warm stain with plenty of grain on display, it's what one would expect from the English classic. Here, however, an added touch of rustication meant to imitate the appearance of a plateau crown gives this piece a rugged, more organic flair, while providing an offbeat style to what would otherwise be a simple design. There's some small handling marks to this piece, but condition is otherwise good.
