English Estates: Charatan's Make Free Hand Relief Bent Dublin (Extra Large) (c.1980s)
Product Number: 004-002-16566
Though sporting a form slightly more evocative of the Italian neoclassical school than that of the English, the characteristic Charatan shaping cues are still certainly present. From the rakish posture, to the well-defined heel, and the marque's stepped saddle bit, there's little doubt as to the maker of this pastoral piece. Tight rows of ring-grain form a nearly concentric column up all flanks, highlighted by a warm, light-hued stain. Only a little rim darkening, too; otherwise the condition is quite good.— Daniel Bumgardner
