English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar (54531) (1979)
Product Number: 004-002-17113
Although far from a traditional bent Bulldog, this "53" rendition was at one point a standard shape regularly produced by Dunhill, albeit in very small quantities. The bowl represents a Bulldog approach that has been stretched and elongated to resemble a Stack's height in Group 5 size. The result is quite striking and angular — paired here to stem that continues the shank's diamond motif while displaying an elegant Prince-like bend. Fashioned back in 1979, this piece earned the marque's prestigious Root Briar designation, which prioritizes flawless briar.-Truett Smith
