English Estates: Unknown Sandblasted Bent Billiard

Product Number: 004-002-17373

Stamped "Made in London, England," with no indication of maker, this pipe has unknown origins but was clearly made by a company that knew its stuff. A prominent, near-cylindrical bowl rises statuesquely from the oval, low-slung shank, and the stem is bent for comfortable clenching. The growth rings evident in the medium-depth sandblast are vertical and rise up the bowl, providing a visual impression of even more height. It's an intriguing pipe worth twice the price, in my estimate, and a bargain even as an unidentified piece.
