English Estates: Charatan's Make Sandblasted Dublin (33) (c.1955-1960)
Product Number: 004-002-17249
Despite the fact that I didn't recognize the shape, I suspected this briar may have been an older Dunhill shape, possibly even a Patent-era example based on the craggy sandblast. I was delightfully surprised to find that it was a Charatan and quite a vintage one, at that, having been fashioned sometime in the late '50s. It houses a chamber of significant depth, and sits with aplomb. It does suffer from some minor rim darkening, blistering to the finish, and the chamber shows some scraping, carbonizing, and unevenness from reaming, but it's been priced accordingly and has held up well overall throughout the decades.- Kaz Walters
