English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar (ODA) (805) (1973)
Product Number: 004-002-17202
From 1973, this Dunhill ODA is of course a large pipe, but what's unexpected is the enormous breadth of birdseye covering the left side in tight patterning, elegantly highlighted by a light, honey/chestnut stain. A sort of vertically elongated Apple, it presents a sturdy posture and is in fair shape for a piece its age, reflecting some mild chamber carbonizing, some small scratches around the bowl, a nick and dings at the left heel, and some rim darkening.- Chuck Stanion
