English Estates: Dunhill Shell Briar (EC) (F/T) (4) (S) (1967) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-002-18072

Beginning in the 1920s and continuing until the mid '70s, Dunhill sometimes utilized shaping system that relied on letters instead of number — forms like the "PO," "LB," and "LC" being especially memorable. The "EC," featured here, was a classic Canadian, elongated and oval of shank, fitted to an abbreviated mouthpiece and standard Billiard bowl. In Group 4 size, the trim, sleek shank and stem combination effectively throws much of the visual weight forward towards the slightly canted bowl. We find it here dressed in the craggy texture of the Shell Briar sandblast, that has unveiled a wealth of blasted birdseye and vertically oriented waves of rippling grain. This particular example was fashioned back in 1967 and is offered here in excellent condition.
