English Estates: Barling's Make Ye Olde Wood Fossil Lumberman (244) (T.V.F.) (EL) (Pre-Transition)
Product Number: 004-002-17498
I'm a lover of long-shanked classics such as the Canadian and Lumberman, so needless to say I'm in heaven with this vintage Barling. Fashioned during the marque's venerated Pre-Transition period, it wears an old-school craggy sandblast, making for a composition that altogether epitomizes pieces from the traditional English school. The tall, narrow bowl transitions smoothly to a long, lean stretch of shank and stem. In terms of condition, there's some rim darkening, chamber carbonizing, and minor tooth marks on the stem to note. In addition, while it does wear its original stem, the Barling logo has been buffed away.- Jeffery Sitts
