English Estates: Parker Special Grain Billiard

Product Number: 004-002-17450

The Parker Pipe Co. was formed in 1922 to accommodate Dunhill's "seconds," those pipes that did not meet Dunhill criteria but were still very good pipes, but they were few, most being discarded before undergoing significant tooling. After the 1950s, though, Parker pipes should be considered fully independent of Dunhill production, and actual Dunhill seconds with Parker nomenclature are very rare. This is a newer Parker in classic style, with a winning noney/chestnut stain and long, trailing saddle stem, a palette that highlights the remarkable vertical grain surrounding the bowl, though there are a couple of fills present. It's in very good condition, with just some mild chamber carbonizing, some light oxidation on the stem and a bit of rim darkening.
