English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar (31051) (1977) (Aftermarket Gold Band)
Product Number: 004-002-17532
This Dunhill "05" Dublin has definitely seen plenty of use in its 42 years as there's some minor rim charring, chamber carbonizing, charring around the airway, small scratches around the bowl, and worn stamping from buffing. The ornate gold band around the shank is an aftermarket repair one, protecting a small crack in the shank, but looks quite fetching on this piece. However, it's been priced accordingly and none of those things will prevent it from continuing to serve faithfully for years to come. The Group 3 bowl is dressed in the light stain of the Root Briar series, displaying a lovely mix of birdseye on its flanks with cross grain visible fore and aft.- Jeffery Sitts
