English Estates: Barling's Make Straight Grain Pot (Ye Olde Wood) (T.V.F.) (Pre-Transition)
Product Number: 004-002-18024
Dated as a Pre-Transition piece, this Barling was fashioned sometime prior to the early 1960s, during the era in which the Barling family oversaw the production of their namesake pipes. This specific Pot shape is an iconic one from the esteemed English marque — the profile defined by the bowl's muscular, broad disposition, though the chamber remains of more standard, Billiard-like proportions thanks to the thick insulating walls. The right flank displays a gorgeous array of sweeping grain, highlighted in a warm, auburn stain.-Truett Smith
