English Estates: Dunhill Bruyere 'Innertube' Patent with Silver (SET) (21) (H.Wo) (c. 1920s)
Product Number: 004-002-18119
This charmingly compact Dunhill straight Apple is the kind of vintage piece that should excite any pipesmoker just because of its incredible history alone. It's a Patent piece that's almost 100 years old and features an "H.Wo." stamp, indicating this pipe was hand-worked rather than machine made, making this quite a rare piece as they are barely seen on the estate market. Shape-wise, the bowl is rather petite but broad and is paired to an abbreviated shank that quickly gives way to a sterling silver mount and a trim, tapered mouthpiece. It's a sleek, elegant design that reminds me of the Prince shape due to its graceful profile but displays a straight stem rather than a softly downturned one. This one is definitely sure to please any Dunhill collector with its rarity and beautiful shaping.
