English Estates: Barling's Make Ye Olde Wood Smooth Billiard (300) (T.V.F.) (EXEL) (Pre-Transition)
Product Number: 004-002-18871
Pipes fashioned during Barling's Pre-Transition era are highly collectible, in part because they were crafted in the early '60s and before, when the Barlings still controlled production. The family's pipe history goes back to the early 1800s and their workmanship is held in high esteem. A fine example of that skill is evident in this straight Billiard. This piece is deep of chamber and stout of bowl, with a low-slung transition through a long shank and stem arrangement. A chestnut stain showcases some handsome birdseye, especially at the front and further enhances this piece.-Angela Robertson
