English Estates: Charatan's Make Special Dublin (City of London) (1965-1979)
Product Number: 004-002-18699
Frederick Charatan started carving meerschaum pipes in 1863, and the brand evolved to become among the most recognizable and cherished in the industry. This Dublin certainly reflects the brand's recognizability, its firm heel and double comfort bit identifying it from any intelligible distance. The bowl flares in traditional Dublin fashion with fine tendrils of flame grain following that flare before meeting the wide, flat rim. The shank's flattened underside also ensures this piece can sit stably on its own.- Chuck Stanion
