English Estates: Loewe & Co. Smooth Apple with Silver (1935)
Product Number: 004-002-19528
This Loewe & Co. Apple is 85 years old and in remarkably great condition, though it does reflect some use, notable in a few dings and some minor charring at the rim. Birdseye dominates the left side in an enticing array, shifting to primarily flame grain on the right. The bowl is plump and natural feeling in hand, and of particular visual appeal is the broad sterling silver fitment at the end of the shank, its hallmarks the only adornment. The stem is lean and long, the tobacco chamber wide and capable, and all together it's a beautiful example of Loewe's traditional style, with impressive historical significance thrown in.- Chuck Stanion
